As a Head Therapist for the Performance Medicine Department at Paramour you will be expected to deliver the highest quality of care to the performers while simultaneously supporting the needs of the daily operations required to invoke, evoke, and provoke the senses.  Strong leadership skills are essential to uphold the core values of the department, where we truly value compassionate, reflective, innovative, fun, and fearless people who add to our ensemble.  The start date for this position will be December 2018 and will be based in Hamburg, Germany.

If you are hired for this position, you will be an employee of our partner, Stage Entertainment. This means you will be on Stage Entertainment company payroll and will comply with their employment policies. Also note that this position involves working and living Hamburg, Germany. Contract starting in December 2018.

Reporting to the Artistic Director, you will:

  • Ensure that all arrangements and agreements made between medical authorities and institutions are being respected in an ethical and professional manner, putting the artist as first priority in your professional decision making;
  • Ensure that all the department's daily operational needs are being met at the highest possible standard of professionalism, care and ethics;
  • Adhere to the direction of, and timely communication with, the show operations management team;
  • Adhere to optimal safety guidelines and processes within the artists’ working and performance environment
  • Foster interdependent relationships with the members of the artistic and coaching teams while being responsible for the active and professional contribution of the PMed department to functional decision making processes (Human Performance Risk Management);
  • Foster a positive, stimulating and ethical working environment for the PMed Department staff while being responsible for the guidance and supervision of their functioning and professional growth and development;
  • Promptly convey all pertinent medical information to the management team while actively participating in periodic meetings and reporting;
  • Comply with all CdS Performance Medicine governance standards and audit requirements;

The ideal candidate will have:

  • University-degree in physiotherapy (Master’s degree preferred), along with an appropriately maintained and recognised professional registration for a health care provider in Germany;
  • Post-graduate Qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. but not limited to: Sports Medicine/Physiotherapy/MSK Therapy/Strength and Conditioning) an advantage;
  • Valid CPR/AED certification (additional emergency medical training and certifications preferred, particularly those of a performance or sports-specific aspect);
  • Minimum 6-8 years' relevant clinical experience (on-field/event coverage preferred);
  • Fluency in English (French an asset).  Fluency in German is highly desirable;
  • Experience leading staff or teams ideally in Professional Performance or Sports environments;
  • Experience working with high-caliber athletes or artists;
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment;
  • Ability to quickly adapt to unexpected situations and work flexibly with a variable schedule whilst under pressure;
  • Ability to liaise with medical professionals to the best outcome for artists;
  • Good computer skills;
  • Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills;
  • A pro-active, problem-solving attitude, with the ability to motivate others and work well in a team;
